W&W Morning Run: And Then There Were…

Herman Cain is “reassessing” his candidacy, a day after new allegations came to light that he engaged in an extramarital affair. Cain is expected to decide within days whether to stay in the race, per the New York Times. Since allegations of sexual harassment surfaced several weeks ago, Cain’s poll numbers have steadily fallen, even as die-hard supporters vowed to stick with his unconventional candidacy.

Obama Surrogates: The Obama campaign has released a list of surrogates so far, those politicians, government figures and celebrities who have hosted fundraisers or who have been the featured speakers at the Obama Speaker Series events. The latter are fundraising salons in which donors listen to administration figures and others talk about pressing issues. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan appeared at the first Los Angeles event in October at the home of Peter Chernin.

Among the show biz surrogates are James Taylor, Jack Johnson, the Robert Cray Band, Kerry Washington, POPLYFE, Melanie Griffith, Eva Longoria, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Alicia Keys and India Arie.

The Wire: Among those speaking at a Department of Justice hearing in Baltimore today on children’s exposure to violence is Sonja Sohn, star of HBO’s “The Wire” and founder of ReWired for Change.
