Andrew Cuomo's reelection campaign raised hundreds of thousands at a Hollywood-centric fundraiser on Friday, but as is the case with any industry oriented event, the focus also was on future roles.

Cuomo, instrumental in passing New York's same-sex marriage bill in June and has since been raising money from the gay and lesbian community, is being talked up as a 2016 presidential contender.

Cuomo appeared at the home of designer Michael Smith and HBO executive James Costos, drawing about 100 donors for a $1,000-per-person reception and 40 for a $5,000-per-person dinner. A source said the event raised about $500,000.

Among those present were Rob and Michele Reiner, James Burrows, Steve Bing, Wendy Greuel, David Bohnett, John Goldwyn and Jeff Klein, Darren Star, Rick Jacobs, Chelsea Handler and Kevin Huvane. Smith and Costos chaired the event along with Chad Griffin. Other co-chairs included Steve Tisch, Peter Mortonm Chris Dodd and Casey and Laura Wasserman.
