Royal wedding docu sells to slew of territories
Documentary “William, Kate and 8 Royal Weddings” is set to travel the world.
Repped by Zodiak Rights, the program has been acquired by TLC in the U.S., UKTV in the U.K., Antena 3 in Spain, RTL2 in Germany, Noga in Israel, Leland in China, NTV Nippon Television in Japan, NBC Universal in Russia, CBC in English-speaking Canada and Radio Canada for the French-speaking territory.
Docu was previously picked up by Gaul’s France 5, Switzerland’s TSR and Belgium’s RTBF.
The show was co-produced by Zodiak-owned Marathon and CB Prods., which has produced a string of programs about the British royals.
Penned and helmed by CB Prods.’ founder, Christian Bidault, the 60-minute program follows Prince William and Kate Middleton in the run-up to their April 29 wedding, and looks back at previous royal weddings, including those of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and Willliam’s parents, Prince Charles and Diana Spencer.
Docu features archive footage and interviews covering the social context of each event and key figures involved in each wedding.
