MADRID — Miami-based Venevision Intl. has nabbed U.S. pay TV and pay-per-view rights to a trio of Argentine pics led by Rodrigo Grande’s hit comedy “Cuestion de principios” (A Matter of Principles), about a man whose ethics are tested when his yuppie boss wants to buy a collector’s item from him.
Co-penned by Grande and late writer-illustrator Roberto Fontanarrosa, “Principles” took the adapted screenplay nod at the 2010 Argentine Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences awards.
The movie package, sold by Madrid-based Urban Films, also includes Gabriela David’s sophomore pic “La Mosca en la ceniza,” concerning two friends forced to work in a brothel, and “Tres deseos,” written and helmed by Marcelo Trotta and Vivian Imar, about a couple traveling from Buenos Aires to Uruguay. — Emiliano de Pablos
