Deal follows Weinstein's acquisition of title
Park City– Maple Pictures has snapped up Canadian rights to Paul Rudd starrer “My Idiot Brother.” Deal follows Sunday’s domestic acquisition of the title to the Weinstein Co. for a reported $6 million to $7 million. Deal was negotiated by Maple Pictures’ SVP of acquisitions John Bain and Rena Ronson of UTA on behalf of Big Beach Films. Pic, helmed by Jesse Peretz and also toplining Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer, was one of the hot titles up for grabs here in Park City. Rudd stars as Ned, the idealist son of an overbearing mother who unwittingly wreaks havoc with his three ambitious sisters whilst also bringing happiness into their lives.
