SEOUL — The Korean Film Council (Kofic) has opened the Korean Film Biz Zone (Kobiz) an industry website aiming at overseas expansion of Korean films.
Serviced in English, the http://www.koreanfilm.or.kr is the gateway for international professionals interested in the Korean film industry. It offers comprehensive information on local talent and industry companies, as well as a database of Korean film titles since 2000. Kofic also plans to provide daily news, weekly newsletter and periodical publications in English. For local professionals, Kobiz has launched http://www.kobiz.or.kr serviced in Korean. This offers information on the international film industry, including industry statistics from 38 countries, 120 festivals and guidelines for international co-production from film development to distribution. It also provides sample contract forms, international co-production case studies and a glossary database. Kofic aims to offer legal consulting services online and offline, for local industryites planning an international co-production. Kofic is expected to expand the information service to mobile apps, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook.
