High Point Media Group has moved into U.K. distribution with the launch of DVD label High Point Entertainment, specializing in world cinema and feature-length docus.
Its first release will be Hanro Smitsman’s debut feature “Skin,” toplining Robert de Hoog (“War Horse”) as a troubled youth drawn into the emerging skinhead movement of the late 1970s. Pic is skedded for a DVD release Monday.
High Point will also release Kay Mellor’s “A Passionate Woman,” toplining Billie Piper, this year.
It plans to expand into theatrical distribution in the future.
The news comes as High Point restructures its management team, including appointing Ronald de Neef as non-exec chairman and Elisar Cabrera as board director. Cabrera will also head High Point Home Entertainment.
Cabrera, former director of sales and marketing at High Point, will be also be responsible for developing new and emerging distribution platforms for High Point to exploit.
