PRAGUE — Ondrej Zach has been upped to senior veep, programming and acquisitions for HBO Central Europe.
Zach will oversee the continued expansion of regionally produced and funded work, which has included more than a dozen docus. These have in recent years ranged from a Miss Plastic Surgery contest to an Emmy-winning Romanian look at a street artist who makes good, “The World According to Ion B.,” by debut helmer Alexander Nanau.
The company announced Wednesday that Ivan Sevcik will move into the country manager slot for HBO Czech Republic and Slovakia vacated by Zach.
Sevcik, who will oversee business operations in the region, including general management, sales and marketing, was chairman at magazine publisher Axel Springer Praha in Prague. He started at HBO Central Europe today.
Linda Jensen, CEO of the cabler’s Central Europe operations, said Sevcik’s arrival comes at an “exciting time for television in the region.”
