Carl Goodman has stepped into his new post as director of the Museum of the Moving Image, as of Tuesday.
Formerly the senior deputy director, he succeeds Rochelle Slovin, the founding director of the museum. He has worked at the museum since 1989, starting out as an educator and serving in posts including director of digital media and director of new media projects.
Goodman was confirmed by the museum’s board as director designate of the org in November, when Slovin announced her intention to step down.
Goodman takes charge of the museum, dedicated to screen culture and industry, soon after the recent opening of its renovated and expanded facility in Queens.
