First series has averaged more than 1.3 million viewers

LONDON — Danish channel TV2 has commissioned a second series of hit crime drama “Those Who Kill.”

The skein, which is produced by Miso Film, bowed March 13, and has averaged more than 1.3 million viewers for the first three episodes, with a 70% share among 21 to 50 year olds.

Miso also reports strong interest from the series’ European partners, such as TV4 in Sweden, TV2 in Norway and Germany’s ZDF, all of which will screen the first series in the fall.

Written by crime scribe Elsebeth Egholm and scripter Stefan Jaworski, the skein centers on a serial killer.

It is produced as six episodes of 90 minutes, but also can be aired as 12 episodes of 45 minutes. Its total budget is Euros 11.5 million ($16.3 million).

The first series was produced by Jonas Allen and Peter Bose for Miso, in association with TV2 Denmark, TV4 Sweden, TV2 Norway, ZDF and SF Film, with support from the Danish Film Institute’s Public Service Pool, Nordisk Film and TV Fond, and the Media Program.

TrustNordisk is handling international sales on the skein, and will take it to Mip TV.
