Terry George's laffer begins lensing Friday

LONDON — Yaya DaCosta and Colm Meaney have been added to the cast of Terry George’s Irish laffer “Whole Lotta Sole.”

DaCosta (“The Kids Are All Right,” “Tron”) and Meaney (“Star Trek,” “Get Him to the Greek”) will star alongside previously announced star Brendan Fraser, while “Killing Bono” thesp Martin McCann and “Harry Potter” thesp David O’Hara also join the lineup.

Pic, which helmer George (“Reservation Road,” “Hotel Rwanda”) co-wrote with Thomas Gallagher, sees a young couple along with a baby and two 10-year-olds taken hostage in an antique shop after a botched robbery at a Belfast fishmongers.

Pic is produced by Simon Bosanquet and Mark Huffam’s Belfast-based shingle Generator Ent., the outfit behind “Killing Bono” and “Cherrybomb.”

Jay Russell, David Gorder and George also produce the pic, which is backed by Jeff Steen Enterprises, Archer City Film Group, Molinare and Northern Ireland Screen.

Lensing begins on Friday in Northern Ireland.

L.A.-based Sales Company Essential Ent. is handling worldwide sales for the pic while WME’s Graham Taylor is repping the film domestically.
