Thesp recognized at D.C. ceremony

Jeff Bridges will receive the 2011 Service to America Leadership Award from the NAB Education Foundation.

The award recognizes individuals who have given back to their communities through public service. When not on set, Bridges has devoted his time to ending childhood hunger, founding the End Hunger Network in 1983. He is also the national spokesman for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

“Mr. Bridges is a remarkable humanitarian,” said NABEF prexy Marcellus Alexander. “It is for his extraordinary efforts in ending childhood hunger in America that we proudly honor him with this prestigious award.”

The award will be presented to Bridges on June 6 at the Celebration of Service to America gala in D.C.
