Move follows departure of Stefan Brunner
Ed Borgerding has ankled as CEO of Abu Dhabi Media Co. and Imagenation Abu Dhabi after three years with the company.ADMC chief financial officer Frank Mooty will act as CEO of ADMC and wholly owned subsid Imagenation Abu Dhabi while a search is conducted for a successor. Move follows the departure of Stefan Brunner, who ankled as chief operating officer of Imagenation last month. In a letter to colleagues at the ADMC, chairman H.E. Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei said Borgerding had decided to leave the company “to concentrate on independent projects.” He added that he was “thankful for the contribution that Ed has made to the evolution of ADMC over the past three years.” Ali Jaber, former managing editor of Dubai TV and dean of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communications, is one candidate being considered for the vacancy. Borgerding, a former Disney exec, joined Imagenation in March 2008. During his tenure as head of Abu Dhabi’s $1 billion production arm, Imagenation, the company forged production and financing joint ventures with Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment, Jeff Skoll’s Participant Media and National Geographic Entertainment.Outfit has just wrapped its first Khaleeji pic, “Sea Shadow,” and is in pre-production on upcoming horror-thriller “Djinn.” Imagenation has also invested in international pics such as “Furry Vengeance,” “My Name Is Khan” and upcoming Martin Sheen starrer “The Double.”
