New York-based Asian Media Rights announced a distribution partnership with Texas-based Funimation Entertainment, the leading distributor of Japanese animation in North America.
AMR will license more than 20 Funimation films including “Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance,” “Summer Wars,” “Alien vs. Ninja” and “Mutant Girl Squad.”
According to the agreement, AMR will release titles on cable and satellite VOD day-and-date or before theatrical release to give North American fans the earliest opportunity to see their favorite anime titles.
“Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance” will be the first anime available on cable and satellite VOD. An expanded edition of the film called “Evangelion 2.22” will be released March 29 on Blu-ray and DVD.
