Morgan Spurlock to give master-class
The European preem of Morgan Spurlock’s documentary “Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold,” which pokes fun at product placement, will open the Sheffield Doc/Fest on June 8.
Spurlock will attend the screening of the film, which is being distributed by Content Media Corp., and give a master-class on his work at the event, held in the city of Sheffield, 140 miles north of London.
The five-day fest, which has moved to a summer date from its traditional November showcase, will feature roughly 120 docs, including several that will receive their European premiere, having bowed at Sundance.
Among the highlights are Ian Palmer’s “Knuckle,” Steve James’ “The Interrupters,” Marshall Curry’s “If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front,” Matthew Bate’s “Shut Up Little Man: An Audio Misadventure” and Andrew Rossi’s “Page One: A Year Inside the New York Times.”
