Dealmakers Impact Report 2011: Lawyers

Galsor reps top actors, directors, writers and producers in film, television and new media, and maintains a punishing 24/7 schedule to accommodate his clients — flying to Mexico City for one day to close a deal and taking a 4 a.m. conference call the next.

“It’s a challenging and demanding but also a stimulating and fun job,” he says.

KEY DEALS: Structured and closed Tom Cruise’s “Jack Reacher” franchise deal in addition to the A-list star’s deals on “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol,” “Oblivion” and “Rock of Ages.”

Also handled Lightstorm Entertainment’s deal with Disney for James Cameron and Jon Landau to develop lands based on “Avatar” in Disney’s theme parks around the world — “a once in a lifetime unique deal.”

He also repped’s deals with Lisa Kudrow for her show “Web Therapy” and its migration to Showtime, with Diablo Cody for her show “Red Band Trailer,” and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone for “The 3 Minute Talk Show With Barry Sobel,” pioneering deals in the Internet space.

SPARE TIME: Photography, telling stories to his children.
