Sarah Palin has weighed in on behalf of Dr. Laura Schlessinger, urging her to "reload." Given what got her in trouble, it's difficult to figure out what that would entail, but hey, you can never go wrong with a gun analogy among Palin's supporters.
Of course, the Los Angeles Times quoted Schlessinger as saying that she'd been thinking about hanging it up already, which might explain why it took so little, in relative terms, to push her over the edge. I'm still a little fuzzy, though, on how using racial epithets qualifies as "dissent."
Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert tackled the story with customary brilliance, including the historical tidbit that Thomas Jefferson never married Sally Hemmings because she "never laughed at his slave jokes." Who knew?
