Winona Ryder is all growns up for CBS


This isn’t “Stop the presses” news, but I’m just having a little trouble wrapping my head around the idea that Winona Ryder has the lead role in Sunday’s CBS “Hallmark Hall of Fame” movie. Or maybe it’s just making me feel old.

In “When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story,” Ryder plays the wife of Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill Wilson (Barry Pepper). From the preview clips, it appears a very earnestly told tale — no  surprise considering the HHOF provenance — and again, I’m left to absorb the idea of a Winona Ryder TV movie without any irony.

But I guess we all have to grow up sometime …
