NBC’s buying spree appears to have no end, as the Peacock has next ordered the Paul Reiser comedy “Next.”
Show has been on the buzz list for days, as its “Curb Your Enthusiasm”-style conceit apparently had several high-level fans at the net.
Warner Bros. TV — which is supplying a large chunk of NBC’s new shows — is behind “Next.”
Show stars Reiser as a version of himself, dealing with friendships and relationships.
Reiser wrote the pilot and exec produces with Jonathan Shapiro and Craig Knizek. Bryan Gordon directed the pilot.
Reiser stars along with Andrew Daly, Omid Djalili, Amy Landecker, Duane Martin, Koby Rouviere, Ben Shenkman and Brock Waidmann.
Order brings NBC’s hefty roster of new series for 2010-2011 to 12 (or 13, if the net’s Cheryl Hines reality show is included).
