Sports cabler and home of the NHL will begin telecasting World Series of Poker circuit tour events starting in June. ESPN has long been home of the WSOP main event from the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, but Versus will carry preliminary events from around the country.
Each two-hour telecast will lead toward a championship round from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas where $1 million in prize money will be divided among the top 10 finishers.
Poker Prods., which handles WSOP Europe events, “High Stakes Poker” and “National Heads Up Championship,” will produce.
The 2010-11 WSOP circuit tour began in August in Iowa and continues through May in New Orleans.
