Third piece of ‘Robot Chicken’-‘Star Wars’ trilogy set for Dec. 12

“Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III” is on its way through the galaxy, scheduled for a 11:30 p.m. Dec. 12 premiere date on Adult Swim.

Chris McKay will direct the upcoming installment of the trilogy (pic above is from ‘Episode II.’) Seth Green and Matthew Senreich (Stoopid Monkey Prods.) exec produce, with writing credit shared among “Robot Chicken” head writers/exec producers Douglas Goldstein and Tom Root, series scribes Mike Fasolo, Zeb Wells, Green and Senreich and several others.

“We’re telling more of a linear story this time that covers the series from start to finish,” Green said.

Added Senreich: “We’ll get a unique perspective from the bad guy side, from people who just want to rule the universe.”

Voice cast includes Zac Efron as Anakin Skywalker, original “Star Wars” C3PO Anthony Daniels, Mike Henry (“The Cleveland Show”) and Donald Glover (“Community”), as well as Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and Ahmed Best as Jar Jar Binks, and Green, Senreich, Breckin Meyer, Seth MacFarlane, Dan Milano, Abraham Benrubi, Donald Faison, Rachael Leigh Cook and Adrianne Palicki.

Last week, “Robot Chicken” earned two 2010 Emmy nominations, for short-format
animated program and outstanding voice over (Seth Green).
