Turns out Betty White had nothing to be worried about.
The 88-year-old actress fronted what may have been the best “Saturday Night Live” this season. Her timing was spot on, her interaction with new and returning “SNL” castmembers excellent, and her delivery was… well, quite dirty at times, as the above NPR sketch (with guest “SNL” alums Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon) shows. (Yes, I believe they’ll be talking about Betty White’s muffin for some time on Facebook.)
Jay-Z also offered up an epic medley of hits, and gave a shout-out to White at the end of his second number. Also back: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Rachel Dratch.
“So glad I went tonight,” Tweeted “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” exec producer Mike Shoemaker, an “SNL” alum who attended his first taping since leaving the show. “I remember when we hired every one of them, and they all made me proud.”
