The CW sets premiere date for “Plain Jane”

The CW’s new reality makeover series, “Plain Jane,” hits the airwaves on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. this summer, starting July 28.

“Plain Jane” (or, as Dan Fienberg aptly calls it, “Shock Collar of Love”) follows British fashion expert Louie Roe as she transforms one woman each week — and then sends them out on a blind date with their crush.

During one of the confidence-building exercises, the woman is sent out to interact with random guys — WHILE WEARING A SHOCK COLLAR. The woman is buzzed everytime she says something dumb.

Seriously, THAT is the show. The CW needs to start playing up that portion of “Plain Jane” — perhaps taking Dan’s advice with the new title, for starters.

Sony Pictures TV is behind “Plain Jane,” which comes from exec producers Allison Grodner (“Big Brother”), Rich Meehan (“Big Brother”) and Amy Palmer (“You’re Cut Off”) for Fly on the Wall Entertainment.
