Syfy renews ‘Haven’ for second season

Cables gives go-ahead for 13 more episodes

Supernatural drama “Haven” will return for a second season.

Syfy has given the go-ahead for 13 episodes in season two, with production set to begin in the spring in Nova Scotia. The soph season is scheduled to debut in summer.

Based on Stephen King novella “The Colorado Kid,” Series stars Emily Rose as an FBI agent who takes up residence in a small Maine town and begins to learn the community’s secrets. Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour also star.

Series, which debuted in July and is ending its first season tonight, is averaging 2.6 million viewers and draws just under a million in the 18-49 demo.

From Canadian-based producer Entertainment One, “Haven” was co-created by Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn. Scott Shepherd is showrunner.
