Syfy continues to expand its stable of reality series, ordering six episodes of the new entry “Hunting Hollywood.”
Shevick*Zupon Entertainment is behind the project, a one-hour docuseries that centers on Profiles in History owner Joe Maddalena. His Calabasas store specializes in collecting showbiz memorabilia, particularly from the sci-fi and fantasy arena.
Here’s how Syfy describes it:
Each episode follows Joe and his crew as they travel the country and the globe searching for the most compelling, rare, and sought-after Hollywood memorabilia. Sometimes combing through basements and attics to uncover lost treasures, and other times meeting with celebrities to view their personal keepsakes, Joe tracks leads and does whatever it takes to seal the deal for a piece of Hollywood history. Every episode culminates with Joe presiding over a world-class auction, where all of the collectibles are sold to fans and collectors from around the world.
Jerry Shevick, Mark Zupon and Bruce Toms exec produce “Hunting Hollywood.”
Show comes to Syfy as the network continues to redefine its programming mix, bringing on unscripted fare such as “Mary Knows Best,” “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files,” “Ghost Hunters” and “Destination Truth.”
Pics: memorabilia including the Scissorhands from “Edward Scissorhands”; the original Jupiter 2 Space Pod from “Lost In Space”; and the original screen-worn Wicked Witch of the West hat from “Wizard of Oz.”
