Deal covers all channels in Starz-Encore package
Starz has inked a long-term carriage renewal agreement with Comcast Corp. that calls for Starz movie titles and other programming to be made available on Comcast’s broadband on-demand service.Deal covers all 16 Starz, Encore and MoviePlex channels owned by Liberty Media, including its HD and HD On Demand services. “Extending the broader relationship between the companies provides a great pipeline of commercial-free movies and original programming for years to come,” said Matt Bond, Comcast’s exec veep of content acquisition. “The agreement with Comcast extends and expands our relationship in a way that benefits consumers and provides Comcast with even more flexibility in presenting our programming,” said Bill Myers, Starz Entertainment’s prexy and chief operating officer.
