Springsteen with Fallon: What a treat!

Jimmy Fallon keeps getting better and better, and he was certainly in his element last night with Bruce Springsteen as his only guest.

Springsteen, who earlier in his career would shy away from even the slightest hint of media exposure, let his hair down, literally, in a parody of the Willow Smith tune “Whip My Hair.” With full beard circa 1975, Springsteen backed up Fallon’s dead-on impersonation of Neil Young. An instant viral treat that proves how much the Boss and Fallon enjoy each other’s company. The two crossed paths prior to the September Emmys when Fallon opened the show with “Born to Run” after the host received Bruce’s permission to use the song.

Bruce was loose and talkative chatting up Jimmy, and viewers were treated to an appearance by E Streeter Steve Van Zandt. The two, along with band member and pianist extraordinaire Roy Bittan and house band the Roots lit into “Because the Night” and “Save My Love,” just released as part of “The Promise,” a collection of 21 songs that never made it on “Darkness on the Edge of Town.”

Enjoy!
