Net greenlights comedy pilot

Spike TV is upping its ammunition by “Playing With Guns.”

Male-skewing cabler has greenlit a comedy pilot starring Danny Masterson and Joey Kern as two childhood friends who become cops in the suburban town where they grew up.

Brian Robbins, who will direct, is set to produce with Sharla Sumpter Bridgett and Lionsgate. Pilot will shoot in Wilmington, N.C.

In February, Spike ordered a second season of raunchy football laffer “Blue Mountain State,” which is also produced by Robbins, Bridgett and Lionsgate.
