MTV Networks-owned cabler has given an order to George Segal starrer “Retired at 35” following a recent pickup of “Hot in Cleveland” with Betty White.
Net has ordered nine episodes and skein is set to launch in first quarter 2011. Chris Case, who write the pilot, exec produces with Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis.
Segal, Oscar nominated for supporting turn in the 1966 pic “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” stars with Jonathan McClain. Storyline centers on McClain moving back into his father’s retirement home.
“Cleveland” also stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, and is set to preem in June.
