AMC's premiere of 'Breaking Bad' lures showbiz
It was hard to get anywhere near “Breaking Bad” creator/exec producer Vince Gilligan at the show’s preem party on Tuesday.
The steward of the AMC/Sony Pictures TV drama was surrounded by a hive of well-wishers who gushed with superlatives about the show’s explosive start to its third season, which bows March 21.
The surest sign of how hot the show is within the biz was the number of creatives from other shows who turned out for the screening at the ArcLight and after-party at Milk Studios in Hollywood. There was a big contingent from AMC stablemate “Mad Men”: Matthew Weiner, Jon Hamm, Michael Gladis, Rich Sommer and Jared Harris. “The Office’s” Brian Baumgartner and Leslie David Baker made the rounds, as did “Parks and Recreation’s” Aziz Ansari.
AMC prexy Charlie Collier was among those who couldn’t say enough about the power of the story that’s about to unfold in “Breaking Bad.” He made special mention of episode six as being “incredible.”
