Conservative radio commentator Limbaugh has been tapped as the star pupil for the third season of Golf Channel’s “The Haney Project,” which will go back into production later this year for a spring 2011 season premiere.
The show features one celebrity each year cracking wise while being schooled on the course for eight episodes by world-renowned golf instructor Hank Haney, the former swing coach of Tiger Woods.
“The Haney Project is a perfect example of how Golf Channel marries some of the biggest names in entertainment with golf to create fun, edgy programming,” Golf Channel senior veep of programming, production and operations Tom Stathakes said.
When “Haney” premiered in May 2009, it was Golf Channel’s highest-rated original series launch.
Golf Channel viewers will get a taste of Limbaugh on the links when he appears on the cabler’s “Golf in America,” Tuesday at 9 p.m.
