CNBC is creating the position of chief revenue officer for Tom O’Brien, former exec at WNBC digital channel the Nonstop Network. Effective immediately, O’Brien will report to CNBC chief Mark Hoffman.
In an email to staff, Hoffman said he felt the net needs to focus on “getting the full value for CNBC’s exceptional brand across all platforms and commercial opportunities — TV, digital, international, branded content and other growth platforms as they come along.”
Hoffman cited O’Brien’s multiplatform approach to marketing Nonstop as evidence that he’s suited for the job. While at the Peacock’s flagship station, O’Brien presided over expansion online and initiatives that put WNBC programming on TVs in taxicabs and New York’s PATH railway system.
