Speculation about Comcast’s post-merger plans for NBC U continued to build over the weekend.
The company remains tightly mum on how the new exec structure might pan out — but following Daily Variety’s report on Friday, other possibilities and names have emerged.
One insider, for example, said that former CBS Network Entertainment TV Group prexy Nancy Tellem had been approached by Comcast to take a key TV job focusing on the Peacock’s business aspects, such as sales and affiliates — news first reported on Saturday by Deadline.
That could be the Randy Falco/Neil Braun-style job that is also rumored to have been offered to NBC Universal TV honcho Jeff Gaspin.
According to the insider, Tellem wasn’t interested in the NBC job. Tellem, who hasn’t been as visible since moving into her senior adviser role at CBS Corp., didn’t respond to a request for comment.
One thing is clear: A lot of moving pieces have yet to land as the Comcast/NBC U deal moves closer to regulatory approval.
