The former New York governor’s CNN talkshow “Parker Spitzer” opened poorly Monday with only 454,000 viewers in the 8 o’clock slot. That trailed the 3.1 million for Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” and 1.1 million for MSNBC’s “Countdown With Keith Olbermann.”
The ratings news isn’t good for CNN, which is trying to figure out how to compete with other newsers. Campbell Brown left the network earlier this year because her viewer totals were low and “Larry King Live” is a shell of itself in audience totals compared to a few years back. Piers Morgan is set to replace King in January.
Last week, the cabler’s U.S. topper Jon Klein was fired and replaced by Ken Jautz, who had run HLN.
