The Paley Center for Media will honor Mary Hart and Al Michaels at its annual salute to excellence gala Nov. 30 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Hart has hosted “Entertainment Tonight” for almost 30 years and will retire at the end of this season. Sportscaster Michaels, the lead voice of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” boasts more than 2,200 hours of live primetime broadcasts.
“This year we honor two of the most respected broadcasters in the entertainment business,” said Paley Center prexy and CEO Pat Mitchell. “Mary’s success … speaks to her journalistic integrity and distinctive ability to gain exclusive access to many celebrities and politicians.”
“With a voice that most of America recognizes, Al has covered more major sports events than any other sportscaster,” she said.
