LONDON — NBC Universal International has hired two content genre heads at its London-based production unit.
Alan Brown, a former senior commissioner at BBC Entertainment, will lead the company’s new factual and entertainment division, while Mario Stylianides will run comedy.
Stylianides has been head of comedy at U.K. shingle Hat Trick since 2003.
NBC Universal International said it would launch new television production brands under Brown and Stylianides’ leadership to produce content for the U.K. and help drive the company’s international format business.
Stylianides’ brand is yet to be given a moniker, but Brown’s bespoke production label will be called Chocolate Media.
Gareth Neame, a drama specialist, and managing director U.K., said: “Attracting executives of Alan and Mario’s caliber speaks to how we are building NBC Universal into a ‘first stop’ destination for the U.K.’s top creative talent.”
