Network looks to set up second comedy block
Busy NBC has ordered its sixth new series for fall 2010, the romantic laffer “Perfect Couples.”
Show joins previously announced series pickups “Chase,” “Undercovers,” “The Event,” “Love Bites,” and “Outsourced.”
“Perfect Couples” centers on three couples as the figure out their relationships. Show comes from Jon Pollack and Scott Silveri, who serve as exec producers. Andy Ackerman directed the pilot.
Universal Media Studios is behind the show. Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios, announced the show on Wednesday afternoon.
“Jon and Scott are hugely talented writer-producers and they’ve really delivered with ‘Perfect Couples,'” said Bromstad. “The comedy includes a cast of three distinctive couples who share the same issues and will draw viewers in with their relatable stories.”
Kyle Howard, Christine Woods, Dave Walton, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Hayes MacArthur and Olivia Munn star.
Pickup further solidifies expectations that NBC will open up a second block of comedies – expected to be on Wednesday night.
