NATPE looks to WPP topper

Sorrell to keynote org's January event

The annual TV confab NATPE has tapped WPP chief exec Martin Sorrell as the keynote speaker for its January gathering in Miami.

Sorrell founded WPP Group in 1985. The company now ranks as the world’s largest advertising and marketing services group.

NATPE CEO Rick Feldman said in a statement that Martin “has built one of the most extraordinary communications companies in the world. And, at a time of rapid change, his comments about how to adapt to a new business environment should be of significant interest to attendees.”

The National Assn. of Television Program Executives announced the 2011 confab’s move to Miami earlier this year after many years in Las Vegas. The conference is set for Jan. 24-26 at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach.
