Mido Hamada is the latest thesp to be cast in Fox’s “Terra Nova,” the Steven Spielberg drama set for a fall 2011 launch.Mido-hamada

Set in the year 2149 when overpopulation and pollution is destroying the planet, the sci-fi skein examines an ordinary family that journeys back in time to prehistoric Earth in an experiment to save the human race.

Hamada, who had a recurring role in “24,” will play the head of a security team and a trusted advisor.

Series, from Twentieth Century Fox Television, is exec produced by Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Craig Silverstein, Kelly Marcel, Brannon Braga, Jon Cassar, Aaron Kaplan, Katherine Pope, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.

Actors Stephen Lang and Jason O’Mara (“Life on Mars”) are already on board.

Veteran TV director Alex Graves ("The West Wing") is set to helm the pilot, while production is scheduled to begin next month in Queensland, Australia.
