Lifetime cancels ‘Rita Rocks’

Sitcom had been on the air for two seasons

“Rita Rocks” no more.

Lifetime confirmed over the weekend that the sitcom, which starred Nicole Sullivan as a working mom who starts a garage band, had been canceled.

Lifetime aired two seasons of “Rita Rocks”; show finished up its second season in November.

Media Rights Capital produced the sitcom, which came from exec producers Stan Zimmerman and Jim Berg.

“Rita Rocks” repped Lifetime’s latest stab at an original comedy franchise, something the cabler has pursued off and on for several years.

“Rita Rocks” also starred Tisha Campbell-Martin, Richard Ruccolo, Natalie Dreyfuss, Kelly Gould and Raviv Ullman.
