The duel between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James will begin at 2 p.m. on the West Coast. In addition, ESPN is televising three Christmas Day games, including a New York Knicks-Chicago tussle. In all, ABC and ESPN will offer a combined 13 consecutive hours of NBA action to distract families from TBS’ “A Christmas Story” marathon.
ESPN also announced that it would open its 2010-11 regular season broadcast schedule with a doubleheader: Oklahoma City vs. Chicago, followed by Portland at the Los Angeles Clippers. Two days later, another doubleheader will feature Orlando-Miami and Lakers-Phoeniz.

Additionally, ESPN will televise a game on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day game between Memphis and Chicago on Jan. 17.
