Controversial reality series ends first season with 4.8 mil viewers
“The Situation” is clear: “Jersey Shore” closed out its initial run a bonafide hit.
MTV’s buzzworthy reality skein ended its first season Thursday night drawing 4.8 million viewers, more than triple from its series debut Dec. 3.
Cabler, in need of a hit with “The Hills” losing popularity, has ridden the wave of “Jersey Shore” popularity among the 12-34 set. In the demo, season finale was up 30% from the previous week’s prior season high.
Following the telecast, “Jersey Shore: The Reunion” drew 4 million viewers who wanted to be kept up to date on the activities of new-found celebrities Snooki and Co.
