Howard, Grazer getting back into reality TV biz

Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are getting back into the reality TV business.

Days after Michael Bay announced plans to develop an action-based reality show, Imagine is following suit — landing the pilot “The Great Escape” at TNT.

Show will center on contestants as they are dropped in various harsh environments — and forced to find there way back to civilization.

Imagine TV is producing with Fox TV Studios. This isn’t the first stab at reality for Imagine, which also produced the 2006 NBC reality competish “Treasure Hunters,” along with Universal Media Studios, Magical Elves and Madison Road.

Like “Escape,” that show also centered on contestants traveling the globe.

Project also reps a new attempt by TNT to get back into the reality game, having attempted last year with “Wedding Day.”

Howard, Grazer, David Nevins and Justin Hochberg are exec producers of “The Great Escape.”
