Fox’s “Idol Give Back” scored in both ratings and in good intentions, as the two-hour event raised almost $45 million for various charities, including Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation.
Featuring acts such as the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Elton John and Carrie Underwood, as well as special appearances from the Obamas, the special topped the primetime ratings race, although it nabbed lower numbers than previous years.
