'Cleveland' gets down at Monday's screening party
Just 24 hours after smooching with Kristin Chenoweth at the Tonys, Sean Hayes got another kiss from the actress at the Monday screening party for TV Land sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” at Gotham’s Crosby Street Hotel. But this time Chenoweth offered no tongue to congratulate Hayes on exec producing TV Land’s first original sitcom.
Cast member Betty White made her presence known after the lights dimmed and before the production logos rolled by yelling from the back row, “How do’ya like it is so far?”
At the party, White said of her “Cleveland” co-stars: “I could tell you some wonderful stories about these girls. If only I could think of one.”
Hayes said White’s role as the sitcom’s snarky caretaker was initially much smaller. “She was originally just going to be a guest star, and then it went really well, so we asked her to be a part of (the series), and she was happy to agree,” he said. “We lucked out.”
