Another Tuesday without “Lost.” If you’re craving a little dose of spooky Michael Emerson, check out the Science Channel this Thursday, June 3 at 8 p.m. Emerson is on tap to narrate the channel’s new special “Creating Synthetic Life.”
Special comes in the wake of news last month that Dr. Craig Venter and his team have created the first living, self-replicating synthetic cell. Uh, creepy?
The special examines the new breakthrough, while asking how the technology might be used for negative purposes, as well as the ethical concerns attached to it. Following the special, Paula Zahn hosts a roundtable discussion at 9 p.m., “Creating Synthetic Life: Your Questions Answered,” featuring Dr. Venter and a group stocked with a journalist, a priest, a professor and an inventor, among others. (Punch line to a bad joke, right?)
Of course, the idea of synthetic life would be just run of the mill news on Craphole Island, right, Ben?
