Hasselhoff to emcee CW Gulf spesh

One-hour special will air on August 27

David Hasselhoff is set to host CW’s tribute “The Gulf is Back,” honoring residents in the hard-hit region and their rebuilding efforts.

The one-hour special, produced by Associated Television Intl. and airing Aug. 27, will incorporate footage from a two-day concert in Biloxi, Miss., featuring performances by Taylor Hicks, Brian McKnight and Bo Bice. Producers will also intersperse interviews with Mississippians about how they’re restoring their communities.

“I think the performances are great, but the stories are the highlight,” said exec producer and Associated Television prexy David McKenzie.

Celeb appearances include B.B. King, Shannon Elizabeth and Dean Cain.
