Vet will helm Hall of Fame induction ceremony
Fox Sports and Speed have tapped vet event helmer Roger Goodman to direct the inaugural “NASCAR Hall of Fame” induction ceremony. Event, which includes tributes to NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty and Junior Johnson, will air May 23 on Speed. No one does live big-time TV better,” Fox Sports Media Group chairman David Hill said of Goodman. “Since this is a historic moment for NASCAR fans, we thought it was our duty to bring in someone with his experience and stature to chronicle every moment.” Goodman, who directed 2009’s 81st Academy Awards, has won 29 Emmys over his career. The opportunity here is getting in on the ground floor of what has the potential to become a great NASCAR tradition,” Goodman said.
