Fox renews ‘Kitchen Nightmares’

Gordon Ramsay series scores third-season pickup

Gordon Ramsay is continuing his quest to clean up America’s worst restaurants.

Ramsay’s “Kitchen Nightmares,” which features the Michelin-starred chef as he hands out guidance to desperate restauranteurs, has just scored a third season pickup from Fox.

“Kitchen Nightmares” currently airs Fridays at 9 p.m. on Fox. On this week’s episode, Ramsay steps in to help the struggling Mexican restaurant Mama Rita’s in Newbury Park, Calif.

Ramsay, of course, also stars in another Fox reality staple, “Hell’s Kitchen.” “Kitchen Nightmares,” which first bowed in September 2007, is based on the similarly-titled U.K. series also starring Ramsay.

A. Smith & Co. is behind “Kitchen Nightmares,” along with ITV Studios and Optomen. Arthur Smith, Kent Weed and Patricia Llewellyn are exec producers.
