Electus gets distrib rights in 5X5 deal

Duo pact for an exclusive deal

Next gen studio Electus has pacted an exclusive deal with reality shingle 5×5 Media.

Electus will hold distribution rights to nonscripted content and programming produced by 5×5 Media, a newly formed company founded by longtime reality producers Craig Armstrong, Rick Ringbakk and Tod Mesirow. As part of the deal, Electus and 5×5 will create and co-produce original content.

Electus, which is part of Barry Diller’s Internet-fueled IAC, unites producers, creators, advertisers and distribs to streamline distribution. Company is headed by Ben Silverman, the former NBC entertainment topper who left the network in July 2009.

“They are fantastic storytellers and we cannot wait to connect them to the Electus platform,” Silverman said. “Craig, Rick and Tod have been connected to the best shows on television and our initial slate shares that same ambition.”
